FAQ:
What should I wear? Loose fitting comfortable clothing is best. Long pants and socks are appreciated. Currently guest robes are not available but eventually will be.
What if I am of a different religion or non religious? Although Buddism can have religous elements, it is not the full picture, nor does it require you believe any of it. Buddism is the vessel in which Zen meditation is held in. Zen at its core is simply being present with the moment without discrimination. Whatever beliefs you bring with you will become the vessel in which Zen mediation can help us wake up.
What if I don't want to chant? There is no pressure to join chanting. If you wish to skip it, please come join us for silent meditation. Chanting can be strange at first, especially when the teachings or language is foriegn. Meaning aside, when monks are taught to chant or when they chant solo, they are encouraged to chant from their heart and find connection to the chant within themselves.
